Today the building houses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chittleboroughandmorgan.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chittleborough and Morgan<\/a>, formerly of Tommy Nutters\u2019 shop, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scabal.com\/flagship\" target=\"_blank\">Scabal flagship store<\/a>. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.permanentstyle.co.uk\/2013\/06\/navy-seersucker-suit-chittleborough.html\" target=\"_blank\">Check out a recent Chittleborough and Morgan suit in navy seersucker at Permanent Style<\/a>.) <em>Picture Post <\/em>was a photo-heavy publication not unlike <em>LIFE<\/em>, and this piece gave the reader a glimpse into the clubby atmosphere of a tailor\u2019s shop (for the customers, at least; the article mentions sewing girls making \u00a33 a week\u2014around \u00a3165 today).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven if you cannot tell an Englishman abroad by anything else, you can tell him by his suit.
