“New York, January 8 – Omaha, William Woodward’s 1935 three-year-old turf champion, was booked for passage on the Aquitania, sailing for England at 10 p.m. tonight”
4-year-old Triple Crown champion Omaha boards the RMS Aquitania en route to England, where the turf-leaning colt competed in a handful of important stakes races before turning up lame and being retired. Amongst his triumphs were wins in the Victor Wild Stakes and the two mile Queen’s Plate, both at Kempton Park. He further finished a close second in both the Ascot Gold Cup (to Quashed) and the Princess of Wales Stakes (to Taj Akbar)
