A watercolor illustration of a Bugatti Type 35C racing in 1930. The 35C was the immediate follow-up to the standard 35. The 2.0 L I-8 of the original 35 was enhanced with a supercharger, boosting horsepower by around 30%. As a result, the 35C remained a competitive racer into the early 1930s. Philippe Étancelin drove a 35C to victory in the ‘30 French Grand Prix–the twilight of Bugatti’s golden age.
