On this day in History: 85 years ago today, on June 17, 1928, Amelia Earhart and the crew of “Friendship” took off from Trepassey, Newfoundland and Labrador, after having spent two weeks weather-bound there. Just over 24 hours later the plane landed in Wales, and Earhart became the first female passenger to cross the Atlantic.

Today Amelia arrived in Wales as the first female passenger to fly over the pond. For this reason I would like to take the opportunity to recommend her memories “20 hrs, 40 min” which is well written and shows her as a positive inspiring human being.
